Icy Purple Head 3 Guide: New Tricks and Levels
The third game gave our hero a backwards cap and the levels a serious upgrade. Here's how to handle everything part three throws at you.
Bigger levels, longer runs
Part three stretched levels into multi-stage journeys: a slide feeds a spring, the spring feeds a moving platform, the platform feeds a final gap. One mistake anywhere ends the chain, so learn each level as segments — master segment one until it's automatic, then spend your attention on segment two.
Buttons, lifts and machinery
The third entry loves machines. Weight buttons open doors while you stand on them in solid form; lifts carry you only if you grip; conveyor-style surfaces push the ice cube around. The rule of thumb: machines interact with SOLID form, physics interacts with ICE form. When a contraption ignores you, check your state.
The 30-level wall
Ask any player where they got stuck and you'll hear the same numbers — the late stages combine timing gates with pixel-tight landings. The universal fix: enter slower than feels right. Almost every 'impossible' section in part three is actually a speed-control test wearing a scary mask.
Train here first
Our own levels 13 to 20 recreate this exact difficulty curve — wind, portals, gates and spinning bars, each introduced gently and then combined. Clear our Gauntlet and Everything Everywhere, and part three's endgame will feel familiar.
